DR. MARTY MATLOCK

Professor, Biological and Agricultural Engineering

Dr. Marty Matlock is a renowned expert in sustainability and environmental engineering. He has served as Senior Advisor to the USDA, focusing on food systems resiliency, and was the Executive Director of the University of Arkansas Resiliency Center.

Elected to the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine’s Board of Agricultural and Natural Resources, Dr. Matlock’s research spans sustainability metrics, ecosystem services, and greenhouse gas emissions. He has advised numerous students, authored over 80 peer-reviewed manuscripts, and holds four U.S. patents. Dr. Matlock is also a member of the Cherokee Nation and has received multiple awards for his contributions to sustainability and ecosystem design.

ASHLEY ALLEN

Expert in Corporate Carbon Data Utilization

Ashley Allen, Senior Advisor for Corporate Sustainability at CO2EFFICIENT and Founder of CSO Copilot LLC, brings nearly 20 years of leadership in climate change and sustainability across public and private sectors. Previously, she was the Chief Sustainability officer at Oatly, where she built a pioneering Global Sustainability Department, achieving significant environmental and social milestones, including 100% renewable electricity for operations and 89% renewable or recycled packaging.

Recognized as a leader in climate action, Ashley has also held key roles at Mars, Inc. and with the U.S. government, contributing to the Paris Agreement negotiations. She holds degrees from the University of Illinois and Indiana University.

Nicole Atchison is responsible for leading innovation and business development across PURIS’ portfolio of companies including ingredient technologies, processing technologies, seed genetic strategies, product development and go-to-market strategies, insights, and support for plant-based brands.

Prior to her role at PURIS, Nicole held roles as a Project Manager and Engineer and was responsible for leading a cross-functional team through FDA approval and U.S. commercialization in the medical device field. Nicole holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University.
